My Story

I am a Registered Psychologist in British Columbia (#2911) who provides evidence-based treatment for clients experiencing different mental health concerns like depression, anxiety, OCD, relationship difficulties, trauma, emotion dysregulation, and adjustment to life stressors. I work with folks across the lifespan, including children (7 years old and up), youth, and adults.

My main goals are to help my clients develop a sense of confidence in their own ability to navigate through mental health challenges and to find personal ways to live an engaged and meaningful life. My style is warm, genuine, empathic, and I always enjoy it when humour finds its way into a session.

I believe collaboration and client-centered care are integral to both the therapeutic relationship and successful therapy, and I truly value feedback from clients so that we can ensure that the treatment plan is meeting your needs. I believe each of us has a unique story and immense resilience. I strive to provide culturally-attuned care for people of colour, and I consider it integral to my practice to consider all the intersecting identities that my clients hold.

My treatment approach is mainly based on Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), but I also integrate strategies from other orientations when it makes sense to do so. These orientations include Motivational Interviewing (MI), Emotionally Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).

I completed my PhD in Clinical Psychology at the University of Victoria, where I also completed my MSc in Clinical Psychology. I obtained my BASc in Child, Youth, and Family, at the University of Guelph. I completed my pre-doctoral residency in Clinical Psychology at the Edmonton Consortium within Alberta Health Services, where I completed rotations in adult mental health, pediatric health psychology, and youth forensics. Throughout my training, I have worked with children and adults in community mental health clinics, in-patient and out-patient hospital settings, and very specialized mental health services/clinics. My PhD research is a collaborative community project that focuses on amplifying the voices and stories of racialized youth who have accessed public mental health care in Victoria, BC.

When I’m not working, you can find me wrapped in blankets reading a good book, googling a dog to adopt, or enjoying the waves down at the beach.
