Frequently asked questions
The fee for each session is $245 per 50-min session which is consistent with the rate recommended by the British Columbia Psychological Association.
Please let us know at least 48 hours in advance if you are unable to make your appointment and we will be happy to reschedule. Late cancellations or missed appointments without notice will be charged at the full rate.
We do not offer direct billing at the current time but a receipt after each session will be provided to you to submit to your extended health insurance company.
Dr. Pauline Song-Choi is a registered psychologist. If you are looking for a psychiatrist (i.e., a medical doctor who is able to prescribe mental health medications), the best path would be to speak to your primary care practitioner for a referral to a psychiatrist. Typically, referrals need to be made through a family doctor (GP) or nurse practitioner in order for psychiatry services to be covered by MSP in BC.
